CUMBERLAND REVO: One of the key drivers for the REVO collection was the main touch-points of the classic American wood chair. I explored issues of comfort, use and structure while redefining the silhouette, edges, mass and making process through the use of technology. The collection looks at the relationship between, design, craft & the making process. It poses the question: “Where is the hand of the artist in a time of technology?” The design of REVO is purposely understated and refined and does not wear it’s technology as a badge. The REVO collection is meant to embrace the history of the American chair while establishing, a fresh, modern alternative for our modern environments. High craft/ high integrity
